Wish you weren't here.

John Dalli
At mid-day yesterday, John Dalli, the EU commissioner for Health & Consumer Policy, caught a plane from Paris' Orly airport to Malta.

What was the purpose of his visit here at the beginning of the working week

What was so important to draw an EU Commissioner responsible for the health and consumer rights of 400 million Europeans away from his desk?

Simple. He flew all the way from Paris to go on Joe Grima's Inkontri and spray bitterness and disloyalty on Malta's TV screens.

Is this why the EU is paying Dalli €19,909.89 a month plus allowances?

What's wrong ,maybe he paid out of his own pocket.
I think it is about time to stop throwing mud at John Dalli,he might, like all of us, have his bad side, but I feel that it is not right to forget all the good things he did for Malta, when he was a minister.
We should give credit to this gentleman for doing his utmost both for us and for the nationalist principles that are so near to his heart.

It would e a pity if we loose his services, especially now when we need his expertise in the econmic field.

I watched a few minutes while zapping. He was saying something about going back to using coal for the power station.

i am not usualy a fan of super one, but after following by coincidence the program where peppi and co were involved, i started following it, just to be able to see at what low level the broadcasting can get into if god forbids these people get into power.

yesterdays program was a shame for an ex nationalist mp, trowing mud left right and center and accusing everyone and everything, including the doctors for having high "specifications' for our only hospital.

i will not say that john dalli was not a good minister, in fact i think he was a very good finance minister, but after the incidents in 2004, he got really bitter and now its getting out of his own hands and being played as they deem fit at superone!

i am not a fan of super one, especially inkontri with that low life of joe grima, another hmieg to say the least. but after following it by chance when peppi, jpo and co were on, led me to follow it to see what low level the broadcasting can reach if god forbids these people were to rule the country...

yesterdays program was a shame for john dalli, a men who after "unfairly"facing what he faced in the past, he remained bitter and lost control of his arguments, letting the guys at super one telling him what to say so that they can play it back as they wish to.

the amount of hate thrown back to the people who made him who he is , or rather was, was incredible. everyone and everything was to blame except him...

@ Antoine Vella.
Ifinstead of "zapping" you followed the whole programm, you would have heard Mr.Dalli explain that it is not coal ,as we know it, but a processed type of coal mixed with other products.
Unfortunatly this is what happens in this blessed country of ours. People rush to criticise without the decency of hearing out what the other has to say.
I have thought that your writing was always worth reading, but this time I'm afraid you dissappoint me.

Silvio, allow me to draw your attention to this comment on timesofmalta.com by Prof Mallia who is far from being a PN supporter.

"Regrettably John Dalli seems to think that we live in what used to be called, with absolute "political incorretness" darkest Africa, while he resides on a sunlit mountain of Brussels sprouts. From there he sends out these nuggets of "information" about most things under the sun, clearly designed mainly to put his political colleagues in a bad light. He does have good reason for this crusade; there is no denying the exceedingly shabby treatment he received from them.

But he should steer clear of woolly statements about "green" fuels which may include "processed coal"; perhaps they have Alberta tar sands derivative as well. How many power stations are using this "green" fuel? Who has "accepted" this fuel in Europe and who has declared it "green"? "

John Dalli WAS rather hazy about the processed coal he referred to yesterday, and he did not volonteer information about any countries who were relying in this form of green fuel. I watched the whole program.

Perhaps he should be fed to the Greeks protesting against the EU-imposed austerity measures.

Dalli was a good minister but since he lost the contest for the PN leadership he went nuts. Please accept defeat with grace and stop throwing mud at the party who made you who you are.Thank GONZI for sending you to BRUSSELS.

According to sources Mr Dalli was granted 2 days unpaid leave on the condition to work Saturday and Sunday to catch up with the backlog..

When is Mr John Dalli going to realise that the vast majority of NP councillors rejected him, and today I say, rightly so!!!!!

Why bitterness?
he said a lot of things that make sense in fact

He is wasting a lot of energy on our domestic politics , I noticed a lot of half truths.
Every Tom Dick and Harry who wanted to start business in Libya knew that the only door to enter was through the Portomaso office, or Bastjan the soap importer.
In the program he said he has no plans and never planned his carreer. Funny that during the “interview’ with Joe Grima, John was looking constantly at the wording of his prepared notes.
His plan is to overthrow Gonzi and snatch the PN party leadership .
People like John who is a hands on person and good in business, plan everything in advance from an interview on Inkontri to trying to grab his last ambition of ‘vindicating’ ( I know its not the right word , but he uses it ) Dr Gonzi.
