Luciano's catch

Luciano Busuttil
Luciano Busuttil, the Partit Laburista spokesperson on European Affairs, uploaded the following three comments in Maltese on facebook. My response to each is in English.

1. "illum m'hawnx 11000 qiegheda imma aktar minn 12000 u hafna minn dawk li jahdmu ghandhom xoghol prekarju minn xahar ghal xahar." Malta has the fifth lowest unemployment rate in Europe.

2. "qabel kelna l'catch. dak iz-zmien ma kienx hawn ghazla imma l-maltin ghal bicca cikkulata kellhom il.flus biex jaqbdu ajruplan u jmorru jixtruwha minn barra. illum la flus m'ghad fadal u ftit zmien iehor anqas ajruplani." Not true. More Maltese people travel more frequently today than at any point in the history of this country. As for 'Catch', the less said the better.

3. "id-dawl jinqata. ejja marsaxlokk u ma' l-ewwel halba xita tas-sena jkun hawn blackout. infakkrek li l-aghar blackouts nazzjonali ta' l-istorja graw matul dawn l-ahhar snin." Electricity black outs are a national disgrace and should be a thing of the past. That is why we treated the issue on Bondi+ a number of times.

The obnoxious little man is maliciously being very forgetful of the time Labour was in power. I find these comments totally dishonest and absolutely misinforming people about the true state of affairs.

That's how they're testing their proposals, which correspond to Mintoff's centralised dictats coupled with Sant's calculated loss making exercises.

When individual wealth becomes the sole factor on which to base policy, these pearls of wisdom are assumed as constraints. They'll soon start implying one's liability to his individual success, in the name of enforced social justice.

Alternative methods of growth, innovation and an ethical outlook on economics are never included.

Lou I do not know if you are familiar with giving testimony in a court of Law. You swear to say the truth THE WHOLE TRUTH, and nothing but the truth. Then if you believe you as for God's help. If not you take a solemn oath. Here we are not in a court of law. That is the reason maybe you chose to quote my wall post comment in vacuo. I was answering to a certain David Borda, a PN activist who happened to send me a friend request which I accepted, and who commented on my wall comment. Magically his comments disappeared from my wall comment. Strange uh? But that is besides the point. 1. Did I say anything untrue when I said we have more than 12000 persons uemployed? Did I say any other untruth when I said that most of the jobs are precarious, definite term contracts that give no stability but nonetheless are good for statistics? As regards power cuts, yes theyy are a disgrace for a modern nation. However, what I fear most now is that people are scared not of blackouts but of infact using eletricity, due to the high bills that are charged. And by the way, Catch is still on the market. never was or ever be my piece of chocolate. Regards
