Joseph, do you have to sink to Saviour's low?

Mama, mama we are all Saviour now
Malta (Labour) Today is publishing the lies Lawrence Grech is uttering as if they were the gospel truth. And they don't have the basic - let alone journalistic - decency to reproduce my denials published on this blog and elsewhere.

It is obvious why. Saviour Balzan, Malta (Labour) Today's managing editor, prefers the lies which swell his boil pumped up with bitterness to the truth which bursts it.

Many have asked why I do not respond to him. Forget it. I don't stick my hand in garbage in order to plant the truth in it.

That Saviour Balzan publishes lies about me is hardly surprising. That he does so in a case involving the horrific sexual abuse of children is horrific in its own right. But again, if you know the man like I do, it's not news.

What I do find disturbing is that in the last 24 hours Joseph Muscat has been following in Saviour Balzan's footsteps on this matter. One TV news and Maltastar been publishing exactly what Saviour Balzan says. They air Lawrence Grech's lies and leave out the truth.

Malta (Labour) Today and the Malta Labour Party today have become interchangeable. Now let us take a step back and assess this.

Joseph Muscat could be the next prime minister, the highest office in the land. Should he sink with his media to this level? Should the next prime minister allow the horrific experience of sexual abuse of children to be used as a sick political weapon against a journalist, or anyone else for that matter?

If this is what Joseph Muscat chooses to do with the little power he has as a prime minister in waiting, what will he do with real power if he becomes one?

What is happening to you, Joseph?

You mention Malta today linked to labour, ok lately for sure it's biased towards labour, but when it was the PN's prostitute you said nothing. Mr bondi! And why are you saying that this issue is being used as a political weapon when the attacks are directed towards you and bondiplus.....isn't bondi plus impartial? And most of all what you are saying that lawrence grech is lying is what you say, what lawrence grech says about you is what lawrence grech says, they can be lies they can be real....we want facts!

This is not fair. I can assure you that neither a leader nor a deputy leader passes his days in a newsroom.

And this happens in all political parties.

@ offiz - here is what you need to know (1) MaltaToday has been relentlessly attacking Where's Everybody for over a decade. It never took a break (2) I do not give a toss who or which party Saviour Balzan and his garbage dump support. But the factis that Malta Today was originally balanced, sometimes pro-PN. But the moment that John Dalli lost the PN leadership race they started criticising the PN. Now Malta Today has become Malta (Labour) Party Today. Saviour Balzan was John Dalli's groupie. Get it (3) You should ask Joseph Muscat why his media is attacking me. (4) You cannot have an opinion about whether a fact is true. A fact is true because it is and whoever has a different 'opinion' is wrong. Lawrence Grech is telling lies because he's denying facts which are etched in stone, witnessed and heard by other people. Do you think that I am so stupid as to call someone a liar unless I am certain that I can defend myself in court with witnesses by my side? Enough said.

@ Joe Brincat - It was Joseph Muscat who commissioned a code of ethics for his newsroom as soon as he became leader. And he embraced it fully when it came out. The disgusting reportage of the Lawrence Grech lies breaks half the rules of that code and deliberately so. On an issue which has nothing to do with politics. Who should be responsible?
