This is what The Times reported today:
"The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses said today that while the Maltese
Government took 'extreme measures' to assist patients from Libya, the
same political commitment was not shown to the Gozitan patients who
needed chemotherapy and had to go to Boffa hospital for such treatment
on a regular basis."
Now as a Gozitan I'm fully conscious of the inconvenience faced by patients, not just those who require chemotherapy, who need treatment in Malta. And I am writing as someone with a sister who died of cancer when the ferry crossed a handful of times a day.
But to compare the 'political commitment' required to lessen this inconvenience with the one to help Libyan men whose bodies were blasted by bombs, bullets and shrapnel is in very, very bad taste.

The MUMN's statement is not only in bad taste; it is stupid and misleading.
The MUMN represents nurses and midwives who should react to such blatant manipulation if they disagree with such statements.
Is this really what paramedics think? Are they such the cynical, hypocritical category that Paul Pace is making them out to be?
Paul Pace's credibility, (and subsequently, MUMN's) has long gone to the dogs.
MUMN members must take action and disassociate themselves from their Council.
what a shame!!!! Rudolph Cini must be tearing his hair out seeing what they did to the union he left.
Do recent MUMN inane statements made with the full approval of the members the said union ?
