I found it quite shocking actually.
Take a look at the comments underneath the Times online story about Austin Gatt's sudden hospitalisation because of abdominal severe pains. Most of the contributors preface their speedy recovery wishes with the same proviso: 'Even though I don't agree with him ...'
How absolutely awful and uncivilised.
They can bring themselves to wish a speedy recovery to Austin Gatt's abdomen only by bypassing his brain.

Personally I don't see this as something negative. I think that they merely wish to emphasize that despite the fact that they don't agree with him about the way he does things, when a person's health is involved, they are capable of putting aside certain (political?) differences and extend their sincere wishes for a speedy recovery. And that, in my opinion, is something positive.
That's because their thinking bypasses their brain and goes straight through their nether regions.
Wishing a full and speedy recovery to Dr.Gatt.
There has never been, and never will there be a more straight-forward, honest and transparent minister like Dr.Austin Gatt. You know exactly where you stand with him. He calls a spade a spade and is not one to play for the gallery and plaudits. Malta will be the poorer for this man's exclusion from politics.
