For the record, Clos de Gat is a brand not a wine so, unless Bedingfield has drunk the entire winery dry, his name-dropping only shows up his wine illiteracy. And not for the first time.
At any rate, Maltastar clearly “benefits” from his wine-tasting.
amazing isn't it.. the world is in chaos and financial meltdown, Greece is battling with economic and political survival.. and in Malta we have the luxury of not worrying about our finances and so we can waste a day debating whether a Minister should resign because he hasn't sorted public transport after 4 months.. followed by a good bottle of wine.
We don't say "I've treated myself to a Meridiana 2001 or a Marsovin 2001" because there's no such thing.
I understand that Bedingfield often mentions the names of wines that he drinks (like others might inform the world that they drink Earl Grey rather than Darjeeling tea, for example) so I would expect him, at the very least, to get the names right.

Reading Glen's post, it seems unlikely. Benefit of the doubt, maybe he posted it AFTER imbibing from the Clos de Gat.
Dr. Vella,
You're being ridiculously pedantic.
"Wine" is universally used to denote a particular brand, in all sorts of contexts, including the oenological and the gastronomic.
There goes yet another baseborn mule trying to pass off as athoroughbred.
Try Chateau Test de Kazz 2011 next time :):):)
Manuel, I'm not sure I get your point.

what's wrong with the name? If I write that I opened a 1961 Latour, everybody knows that it is a bottle of Grand Vin
Will you all give us a break, he just wanted to say that he just opened a good bottle of wine ... GET A LIFE!
