Not journalism, not politics, just hatred

Flitting around Mater Dei this morning I felt like a male version of Florence Nightingale. It started with Rachel having a very minor intervention - she's fine, so don't take up Where's Everybody company time with good wishes. Then we visited a friend’s wife who had an accident.

Finally we popped over to visit minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici. He has been in and out of hospital for three weeks and will undergo a delicate operation in the coming days. As we queued up to see him we chatted with Police Commissioner John Rizzo and President George Abela, both there for the same purpose.

So when I arrived at the office and caught sight of l-orizzont's headlines - click here: Beppe għal flok Carm? - I had to sit down and read it.

You should do the same. It is an eye opener.

You will discover that Tony Zarb's newspaper and Joseph Muscat's TV station think that Lawrence Gonzi has the ethics of an Attila the Hun. When Carm Mifsud Bonnici will go under the knife at Mater Dei Gonzi, they say, Gonzi will take the opportunity to fire him and install Beppe Fenech Adami instead.

I will not write more about this because it nauseates me. This is not journalism, less so politics. It is just pure, undiluted hatred. And hatred based on lies to boot.

Tony Zarb and Joseph Muscat should do the decent thing. They should call Carm Mifsud Bonnici now to apologise personally and then issue a joint public apology.

Kurt Apap Yes yes as soon as Gonzi and co issue an apology for all the lying, rampant corruption, fundamentalism and total disregard for the democratic process. Make no mistake, a change of government is needed. I'm sure if you scour past issues of In- Nazzjon you'll find similar stories. Or you could just hold up a random Daphne Caruana Galizia article. Either way, this level of journalism is hardly exclusive to PL.

Somehow it sounds that you wouldn't have bothered to visit him, if you had known before, that the minister might have been on the way out

As you say it is no journalism, not politics, just opportunisim

@ Silvio, What do you mean the minister is "on the way out" of hospital? I just said that he has been in and out of hospital for 3 weeks and is about to be operated on.

nice try.
I am sure you know, that there is a difference between
On his way out
On the way out

Silvio, not that you clarified what you originally meant, I can respond. If you had the slightest idea about what is going on, you'd realise that Carm Mifsud Bonnici is as "on the way out" as Gaddafi is "on the way in".

I'afraid that now I am the one who is not understanding.
Please try and explain, under what stroke of immagination, can you ever compare C.M.B.with Gaddafi.
Just on a different tone,I sincerly think that our party needs a reshuffle,if we intend to win the next election, and this might be the right time to start.

@ Silvio, sorry, if you cannot stick to one point at a time, I've got no time to waste.

I just can't comprehend why half of the country see MLP as a viable political party for the country. Muscat thought that by changing the emblem, the symbol of fear, and the party's name the people will look at the Labour party as different from the past.
The truth is their creed hasn't changed- Hate everyone who doesn't support them.

Nice try Silvio.

I 'immagine' you're riling the nationalists.

What gets churned out on a daily basis from the labour party media is an ample reminder of why one , should NOT vote PL.
